A Haute Mess is written by Niki Blasina, and was first named one of the Top Fashion Blogs in Canada by MSN in 2010. Niki and A Haute Mess have been featured in press all over the world, including FLARE, FASHION, VOGUE Paris, Glamour, and Seventeen magazines, and she continues to make appearances on television and radio discussing top stories in fashion and entertainment.
Niki Blasina was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. She currently lives in New York City and works as a multimedia producer and freelance reporter.
Niki is a recent graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where she received her Master's degree in journalism focusing in digital media. While at Columbia, she deepened her reporting and writing skills, learned from world-renowned journalists and scholars, and reported on a variety of topics and issues including local and national politics, sports, labor, and Hurricane Sandy -- in both video and print.
Prior to attending graduate school, Niki freelanced in fashion, arts and entertainment reporting across multiple platforms. She has written for Variety, MTV Canada, The Huffington Post, Complex, and FASHION, among others, and had regular appearances on CTV News Channel on a nationally broadcast entertainment panel.
Niki also has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria, and an Associate certificate in Public Relations from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. She is a fashion, sports, politics, entertainment, and travel enthusiast, a Canucks fan, and a Mario Kart titleholder.
